We are the only archery club in the Metropolitan area whose members shoot regularly on a Sunday morning. We shoot all year round however we may take a Sunday off if it is really wet, windy and horrible. We are affiliated with FITA, Archery Australia (AA) and Archery Western Australia (AWA) and shoot from 8.30am - 12noon (or later) every Sunday.
Archery is a sport for all seasons and for all people whatever their age, gender or level of physical ability. It is also a very versatile sport since it can be as simple or as involved as the archer wishes.
Archery is possibly the only sport where the whole family can learn together, side by side so if you are going to book the kids in to a beginners course you might consider doing it yourself. There is a discount for families.
Sunset Coast Archers is a club for people who just want to shoot socially and for those who take the sport a little more seriously. We have regular Sausage Sizzle Sundays when we solve the problems of the World however a number of our archers also hold state records for various age divisions. Club members also shoot for classification and other badges awarded by Archery Australia. It is entirely up to you as to how far you want to take your Archery.
At Sunset Coast Archers we cater for ages 11 upwards and on any given Sunday we have a mix of male and female archers ranging from beginners to more experienced archers.
Club members shoot with recurve bows, compound bows and longbows or barebow. Unfortunately we are unable to cater for crossbow shooters.
We have a number of qualified Archery Instructors who are able to teach beginners the fundamentals of Archery and who are also able to help more advanced Archers. We also have regular visits by more experienced coaches to help improve your Archery.

We have a weekly update on what is happening in and around the club which we send out to members, those doing the current Beginners to Winners archery course (or have just finished) and everyone who has have signed up for the next course. You can take your name off our list at any time.
We will be holding 5 QRE (Qualifying and Ranking Event) Tournaments and Social Shoots during the year. The QRE and Social Shoot is held on the same day and gives archers of all ability a chance to get together and enjoy a relaxing shoot and join us for a Sausage Sizzle and a drink. The first was held on Sunday 18th March 2012 and was a great success. Our next one will be held on Sunday 20th May. More information here
